Holly dedicated her life to service. She was a nurse all of her life and the last years of her career as a hospice nurse helping the terminally ill pass over with peace and dignity.  On her last days here on earth, her husband,Mike, sat by her side day and night loving her to the ther side.  My friend taught me a lot about life.  I am eternally grateful to have known her. Rest in peace my dear friend.   Laurie Patterson Fitch

Laurie - your post was beautiful. Always so hard to lose someone who means so much to us. Peace - Pat

This is such sad news -- I remember Holly ( going back to Junior High days) as a constantly kind and cheerful presence.  It is good to know that she was surrounded by love to the end.

It is hard to believe it has been two years. And I know how hard it was for you to loose a good friend.

I knew Holly from a very young age. Once again, I wish my mom were alive to help me remember. Anyway, we lived on 20th St. until I started second grade. Her grandfather (I think) lived on 19th St., and she was there quite a bit. She had a great playhouse out back that we played in. I loved it because was a miniture version of the larger house. Holly's dad owned Hansen's Market on Hill Road, next to the Chevron Station. I was very young, but I remember it had worn hard wood floors, and he used to call me "squirrel" when we went shopping there. My folks really liked him.

Holly lived above us in the Highlands, and I knew her all through school. I am not surprised that she spent her life taking care of others. I will always remember her as a very kind, caring person--a gentle soul.

Bill, she was as shy as you were. I knew it took everything she had to even ask you.  She married a guy from South Dakota that looked like you.  lol.
