Jeffrey “Jeff” Alan Spence, age 66, of Boonville, passed away on Wednesday, May 14, 2025, at Boone Hospital Center. He was born on July 26, 1958, in Boonville, Missouri, the son of Wayne and Alma Sue (Thompson) Spence.

A visitation will be held from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, May 20, 2025, at Howard Funeral Home with a Funeral Service to follow at 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home. Interment will follow at the Old Lamine Cemetery.

Jeff grew up in Blackwater, Missouri, graduating from Laura Speed Elliott High School. He worked on the family farm growing up and continued in the farming business after high school as well, operating his own pig business. His pigs won Grand Champion awards at the State Fair.  Jeff was an outdoorsman who enjoyed the peace and quiet, as well as hunting, and  fishing. He was a huge St. Louis Cardinals fan and rarely missed a game. But he most enjoyed going to dinner and spending time with his family. He loved being “Pop-Pop” and never smiled more than he was with his grandkids.

Jeff is survived by his son Tyler Spence and fiancé Nicole of Omaha, Nebraska, daughter Ashley Elder and her husband Chad of Lee’s Summit; grandchildren Emma and Quinn Elder; brother Terry Spence and his wife Charlotte of Boonville; sister Suzanne Schrader and husband Scott of Boonville; and nephew Shawn Spence of Boonville.

He was preceded in death by his parents Wayne and Alma Sue Spence.

Memorial contributions are suggested to the family for a future foundation.
