Services will be 4:00 P.M. Friday, April 9 at Oasis Southwest Baptist Church in Amarillo with Bret Capranica and Bradley Spears officiating. Interment will be at Dreamland Cemetery.

Walter Kinney "Kin" Gibbs, Sr., was born January 24, 1939 in Ranger, Texas to Marion and Reba Scott Gibbs. The family moved to Borger in 1942. Kin was a veteran of the US Navy. He was a member of the Gideons at the Canyon Camp. He served ten years with the Jail Ministry at Randall County and seventeen years with the Tulia unit. He worked as a butcher all his life, and spent the last ten years working for Wal-Mart.

Survivors include his wife, Ella Yvonne Gibbs; ten children, Curtis Gibbs, of Redding, CA, Jeff Gibbs, of Santa Fe, NM, Kimberlee Richter, of Houston, TX, Walter Kinney Gibbs, Jr., of Midland, TX, Julie Pruitt, of Borger, TX, Cynthia Gibbs, of Redding, TX, Shelly Walker, of Canyon, TX, Jennie Emerson, of Vicksburg, MS, Bruce Dewey, Jr., of Jacksonville, FL, and Kevin Dewey, of Amarillo, TX; twenty six grandchildren; sixteen great grandchildren; six siblings, Wanda Melvin, of Ashdown, AK, Annette Brooks, of Fritch, TX, Sandra Joslin, of Borger, TX, Don Gibbs, of Sanford, TX, Jerry Gibbs, of Redoak, TX, and Melvin Gibbs, of Waco, TX.
