Loretta Yvonne Hazzard, age 81 of Houston, Texas, was called home to be with the Lord on October 28, 2021.

Loretta was born on November 23, 1939. She is preceded in death by her parents, Mather Edwin Griffin and Phyllis Louise Griffin and her brother Phillip Edwin Griffin. She is survived by her beloved husband Gerald Hazzard and loving daughters, Staci René Mashrouteh and her husband,Mehran Mashrouteh, Leah Michelle Salvato and her husband, Carlo Salvato Jr. Melissa Dawn Bailey and her precious grandchildren: Carlo Salvato III and Wife Abigal Salvato, Dana Salvato, Andrew Salvato, Jake Bailey, Grey Mashrouteh, Gavin Bailey, Evan Mashrouteh, Nathan Mashrouteh and Brody Bailey; as well as numerous family members and friends.

She was born in Borger, Texas and moved around the state but moved back in 1953, where she later met and fell in love with her high school sweetheart Gerald. After graduation, they were married. Shortly after that, Gerald enlisted in the Navy and they moved around to Florida, Alabama, and Louisiana. Memories that she cherished forever. After Gerald was discharged he started a career in aviation that would take them to Borger, Chicago, Houston, Oklahoma City and finally back to Houston again to finish raising their family. Loretta loved that Gerald was a pilot and especially loved to attend his company parties and travel the Caribbean with him. Over the years Loretta worked as a hairdresser, a realtor and in childcare. She loved to play tennis, go antiquing, sing in the choir and she especially loved her trips to Las Vegas and Louisiana to gamble and see shows along with dancing with her husband Gerald. Loretta was an amazing wife, mother, but best of all, a grandmother to her 9 grandchildren of whom they affectionately called, “MeMaw.” She enjoyed being with her family and friends; but most importantly, she enjoyed watching her grandchildren’s various activities, and rooting for the Astros. She will be missed dearly by not only her family but by those whose lives she touched.
