Mr. Donald D. Halford, 49, native area resident, died at 9:59 AM on Friday in the Emergency Room of the Jane Phillips Episcopal Memorial Medical Center where he was rushed following a sudden illness suffered at his home in Barnsdall.

Funeral services for Mr. Halford will be held at 11:00 AM on Tuesday in the Sanctuary of the Barnsdall First United Methodist Church. The Rev. Charles Malcolm Alexander will be the officiant. Committal prayers and interment will be directed in the Ethel Reece Cemetery by the Arnold Moore-Barnsdall Funeral Service.

A native Oklahoman, Donald D. Halford was born on June 27, 1940 at Barnsdall. He was the son of the late Clyde Orval and Cora Ellen (Jones) Halford. He began his elementary education at the Phillipsburg School, southwest of Bartlesville. In 1950, he moved with his family members to Borger, Texas where he completed his education in the Borger, Texas community schools. He was enlisted in the United States Army in 1958 and he served during the Vietnam Conflict. He received his honorable discharge in 1968 at which time he moved to Tucson, Arizona for two years. He returned to Barnsdall and was employed by the City of Barnsdall prior to his joining with his brother, Bobby Joe Halford and Dempsey Lee Halford in forming Bob’s Roustabout and Oilfield Service where he remained active until 1975. He was later employed by Equity Drilling and remained with their employment until 1987. He and the former Miss Judy Marie Hogue were married in January of 1963 at Lawton, Oklahoma.

Mr. Halford was member of the Baptist Faith and was a member of the Webster Schrack American Legion Post #227.

Donald D. Halford will lie in state in the Arnold Moore-Barnsdall Funeral Home where friends may call for their visitation until he is removed to the church for services and final rites on Tuesday morning.

Surviving Mr. Halford are one daughter, Mrs. John Richard (Tammy May) Hendrix, and one son, Kenneth Don Halford, both of Barnsdall; two brother, Bobby Joe Halford, Barnsdall and Dempsey Lee Halford, Claremore, Okla; two nieces and four nephews.
