Charlotte "Joan" Dowell

Charlotte Joan (Hunter) Dowell, 86, of Springfield, Missouri, entered Heaven on August 4, 2026. She was born on May 17, 1940, in Borger, Texas.

Joan and Bill Dowell Jr. married in 1958, and together they shared 68 years of marriage and a lifelong commitment to ministry. She is survived by her husband, Bill Dowell, Springfield, Missouri; their three children, Connie Allison and husband, David, Lynchburg, Virginia; Stephen Dowell and wife, Robin, Chanute, Kansas; and David Dowell and wife, Kathy, Osage Beach, Missouri; one sister, Charlsie Witt, Sweeny, Texas; as well as nine grandchildren; sixteen great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

A celebration of Joan’s life will be held Tuesday, August 11, 2026, 10:00 a.m., at Greenlawn North. Visitation will be Monday, August 10, from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m.
