She was born on March 24, 1958, in Borger to Sherman and Ada Ruth Fleming. She was a 1976 graduate of Borger High School.

She was a devoted, compassionate and loving mother, and considered this the primary and most important role of her life. Her love for serving others, however, later led her to pursue a degree in nursing from Amarillo College, and she was employed by Texas Tech Center for Family Medicine.

The other great joys of Veneica's life included laughing with family and friends, playing with her grandsons and going to Chicago concerts.

She was preceded in death by Mark Sherrod, though she is survived by their childern, Darcee Maddy and husband Tim of Fort Worth, Keelie Sherrod and fiance Eric McDonald of Austin, and Caeleb Sherrod of Amarillo: her parents, Sherman and Ada Ruth Fleming of Borger: her siblings Sherry Storm and husband Alan of Fritch, Randy Flemng and wife Joy Beth of Hurst, and Greg Fleming and wife Janet of Borger: numerous loving aunts, uncles, nieces, cousins and special friends: and lastly the youngest loves of her life, her grandsons, Ethan and Eli Maddy of Fort Worth.

I'm am just so saddened to find out that Veneica is gone!  I considered her a loyal friend.  The funniest memory I have is how particular she was about her hair!  She was so maticulous about her hair that she would pull out her brush and brush it in the wind!
