I didn’t know Doug well, but his death saddens me.  We are all racing toward the finish line, but to be defeated by such a nasty disease like cancer just isn’t fair.  My prayers and with his wife and family now.  I pray that now they can begin to heal from Doug’s disease which affects all those around him, who loved him.  Doug is no longer in pain, he is at peace.  If it is true that those who precede us, look down upon us, I hope he will be watching us on the 20th at our 70th birthday party and laugh and enjoy the fun.  I know how much he wanted to attend, and I am sorry he couldn’t wait.

It’s always difficult to lose a classmate, especially at an age when we should be enjoying our lives with our families in retirement.  I pray for Doug and his family as we remember Revelation 21:4  “And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes, and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain; for the former things are passed away”.  God bless you Doug!

I am so sorry to hear that Doug didn't beat the cancer.  May he rest in peace and enjoy being reunited with his infant son and parents who passed away before him.  He was a great guy back in high school with a wonderful smile! Hy heart goes out to his family.
