Gene Olson

It was reported to me that our classmate Gene Olsen passed away February 26, 2020.  I was able to contact his older sister Arleigh Olson Hull to confirm his death before posting on ClassCreator.

Gene died from complications following heart surgery.

I have sent the family a sympathy card on behalf of the Class of '64 but if you also would like to send a note of condolence:

Sorry to hear of Gene's passing. He and his sister were great members of our class. Gene and I met up in Scottsdale, AZ, shortly after I moved there to work. There was much I remembered about him snd his family, but also much I didn't. He filled inv the gaps, then gave me a copy of his book. May God's presence surround the family with peace.

I am so saddened by the loss of Gene. Gene was a wonderful family man and my heart goes put to his family. I first met Gene in 5th grade when we were all of 10 years old. He was so very kind and thoughtful - characteristics that lasted through his life. Gene, you are missed by many. RIP.

Very sad to hear of Gene Olson's passing.  He was our President for our class of 1964 and we all enjoyed him a great deal.  He was a good person and will be missed.  Thank you Gene for all you contributed to our Class of 64 and for your warm friendship to all of us. God speed Gene Olson.

I was really sorry to hear of Gene's passing!  He was a true and genuine person.  I read his book in awe of all he shared.  He and I grew close when we ran for student body offices together, the B&O team.  Anybody remember????  May God comfort his family, friends and loved ones as they grieve this loss.

So saddened to hear of Gene’s passing.  So glad we were able to enjoy a lovely luncheon with him and Jolanta in Yakima.  I will treasure the book he has written and his friendship.  RIP dear classmate.  Hugs and prayers go out to his family.

We are family.  That's all I can say.  We lost a great one in Gene.  He was an integral part of our class and family.  He was a kind and gentle soul and, of course, we all loved him.  God bless his soul, God bless Jolanta and all of his family and friends.  And God bless each of you in these difficult times.  Love, Skip.

I remembering stopping at Gene's home on the way home from school  a few times. I remember what Nick Bullard said running for student office and Gene being our class president. It has been a while since the second class reunion , this was the time I saw any one from our class.  I will make it down from Canada next time I hope.  Like Skip said, Gene was a important part of our class of 64.
