I was on that flight. I had landed in L.A for a trade show, the plane continued to Mexico. I had just checked in to my hotel and went to the bar for a drink when I saw it on TV news. What a eerie feeling.
So sad that Joe and his wife were killed in that plane crash. So sad for all their family and friends and especially for their children. I guess that is why we are told to live each day to the fullest and be sure to tell our loved ones every day that we love them. He will be missed as he was such a good person always.
Jim, thank you for sharing the story about Joe's demise. This is so tragic and sad. He was such a great person. I am saddened to learn what happened to him and his wife.
I remember the plane crash and that the Rock Church pastor and his wife were on board. I just never associated Pastor Joe Knight with our classmate Joe Knight. Joe was such a nice guy. I remember him as a very compassionate person and always having something nice to say about everyone.
I always liked Joe. He was such a nice , goodlooking young man. I didn't know him later in life but I did see a video he made not long before the crash. He was talking about most people don't think about their own death or how it is going to happen. It seemed a little prophetic to me at the time. Four of our best friends were also on that plane on the way to Mexico. It shook them up pretty good when they heard that the plane crashed on the return flight. My friends talked to another man who was suposed to be on that return flight. His son talked him into staying one more day in Mexico. I hope he has made good use of the extra time he has had on this earth. I know Joe and his wife would have. As it has been said before, we have lost too many good classmates way to soon. May God bless his family that they may have peace and try to carry on where their parents left off. Shirley
Like so many of us, we lost track of each other after high school. Joe was one of the Woodinville 'kids' and I, too, remember him as a very nice guy. We share an important value between us - our love for our Savior. I am so sure that Joe and Linda were a comfort to those on board and I will see them again. Even though it has been some time since their untimely death, I pray God's contrinued blessing on their past ministry will continue and prosper thru their son. Glad you graced our presence with your wonderful life and spirit, Joe.
It has been 15 years ago today that we lost Joe and his wife. It is so nice to know that his classmates have not forgotten him. May God continue to watch over and bless their family.
I am very pleased to see that Joe will be inducted into the Wall of Honor. Joe was one of the most selfless and caring individuals I have had the pleasure of knowing. I am honored to have called him my friend. God bless you Joe and Linda.
Joe, I am glad that you are being recognized for your contributions, as a pastor and humanitarian. While it is sad you will not be there in person for your induction at the Wall of Honor ceremony in August, I am certain in spirit you will be there. May your family find peace and comfort in this recognition. Always, Gabrielle
Hard to believe it has been so long since the accident that took the lives of our classmate, his wife, and members of their church. I saw a video about the plane crash the other day; in fact, there have been more than one posted by aircraft/airline commentators lately. At one point, Joe and his family lived in the same house we rented, across the street from my grandparents. I remember the day Joe and I were playing catch, and he said I had a "natural curve"; obviously, baseball scout would not have been a good occupation for him!
I used to have real positive feelings toward Alaska Airlines and used it primarily when I was commuting between Seattle and Phoenix. But what the videos accused Alaska of in maintenance issues has given me second thoughts.
Joe did the Lord's work to the fullest. No doubt he has received his crowns in heaven and was welcomed by Jesus: "Well done, good and faithful servant!.
