The last line in the coming of age film "Stand By Me"- "I never had any friends later on like the ones I had when I was twelve-does anyone?" In my case it was before and after age six and Ken was one of those friends. We were neighbors-then on Rt 3,now 9th ave near Crystal Springs School. We rode bikes from early morning until dinner time. Played baseball in cow pastures, went horse back riding ( Ken had a horse). Collected pollywogs, frogs, and garter snakes. Built numerous tree houses and tunnels in the tall ferns across the street. The last time I saw Ken was at my Dad's memorial service in 1984. One of my best childhood memories are of Ken.
