Ruth Wagner was one of the most remarkable person I have ever met in my life. We all remember her courage and strength in vieuw of her most severe handicap, her radiant smile and her intelligence. I have a deep souvenir of Ruth in her walking chair, waiting for Mrs Conway class's opening on monday morning  with her extraordinary mother near her, or she again in debate class with her quiet arguement in her low key voice putting forth points hard to refute. She read incredible number of books and she was proficient in  every course.

Until the very end I had letters from her. She had a most brilliant career in law, and became prosecutor of Snohomish county before she died in 1986. I am sure she would have become one of America's great leaders if she had the chance to live. The class of 65 must be indeed proud to have had her as classmate.

Yves, I enjoyed your comments about Ruth. Sorry we did not connect in Paris years ago. Ruth was in private practice in Marysville a few blocks from my restaurant. I hired Ruth  many times on various business projects and enjoyed dealing with her as a friend/attorney. She was very close and dependant on her mother and they would occasionally visit my restaurant.

Yves, what a nice tribute to Ruth.  I remember and think of her often as she was my debate partner for jr. and sr. years.  we went to church together back then as well.   I also remember the countless times I would pick her from her walker to a chair or walk her to her walker.  So pround.....She  would not use a wheel chair!  I can't add any better words to your tribute but to say "ditto"!

I wish my French was 10% as good as your ability to write and speak  in english!!

I enjoyed reading these kind words about Ruth. I was also surprised to see how many friends she had in school--those we didn't even have a class with her, like myself. Always a friendly smile; easy to talk with.

I also assisted Ruth in school and considered her a friend.  Later when I lived in Marysville, I reconnected with her when we  both worked a mayoral campaign.  She also handled my divorce. She was a marvel.  I just saw the Steven Hawkins movie.  Ruth's determination is so similar and I truly.miss her.

I don't think there was a soul at school who disliked Ruth. I never heard her say anything negative about anyone. She was so kind to others and always striving to do better. We had classes together and those class activities where we interacted we so memorable. She was smart. I guess the best thing I can do is thank G-d that I had the opportunity to know her.

I never had the blessing of sharing classes or getting to know Ruth. I admired her so much, and was very sad when I learned of her passing. She was an inspiration to me; her kindness, intelligence, inner beauty (and outer beautyj), and loving nature created a brilliant aura as she walked through the halls. It was an honor to have her as a member of our class.

I sad to hear of Ruth's passing and I am pleased to learn that Ruth had a thriving law practice.  We had classes in the same building at the University of Washington in 66.  I admired her ability to manage that huge and bumpy campus and she's take me in the elevator with her.  I lost track of her later in the year and always wondered where she landed.  Her intellect, wit, and honesty served her well.
