In Memory

Don Wright

Don Wright

This is Chris, Don’s wife posting (from Facebook.com). Last night, (January 22, 2022) the battle with his recurrent cancer came to a peaceful end. I know he was thankful for all his life experiences and the part you played in them. Thank you for being his friend.

I am very sad to share that my brother, Don Wright, Bothell Class of 1965, peacefully passed away this last Saturday at his retirement home in Montana, after a months long decline from stomach cancer. With him at his side for this journey was his loving wife of 49+ years, Chris. Don had many accomplishments and wonderful experiences in his life, but he was by far most proud of his three amazing sons - Justin Wright (Soleil), Christopher Wright (Alissa) and Devin Wright (Kasey), as well as his five beautiful grandchildren. Don also maintained a loving relationship with his “Polish Son” & former Bothell High exchange student Kamil Swierczynski and his daughter (“Polish Grandaughter”) Julia Swierczynsk. We shall miss him every day.

Don was instrumental in getting my butt through chemistry.  He was always so friendly at the reunions.  I am glad he is not in pain and I will always be grateful for knowing him.  RIP, Don!!

Don live about a mile from me. We knew each other during high school, mainly because we'd ride the same bus together. I really got to know him when I often ran into him during school events where he refereed games at where I taught on Mercer Island. Later, after retiring and moving back to Woodinville, he was always part of our monthly morning coffee gathering. Even after moving to Montana he would often make a point of returning when our coffee gatherings were scheduled. I miss him. I was really surpised that his cancer came back--I thought he had beat it. He never complained or talked about, unless someone asked how he was doing.
