


STANLEY HANSEN Stanley Hansen, 85, a longtime resident of Las Vegas, passed away March 8, 2011. Stanley was born July 22, 1925, in Stockton, Calif., and moved to Boulder City as a child. He graduated from Boulder City High School in 1943. He then enlisted in the
U.S. Navy and served as a Sonarman H Third Class in the South Pacific. Upon his discharge, he attended UNR and graduated with a civil engineering degree in June 1951. While at UNR, Stanley met Beverly Simon and they were married Aug. 27, 1950. They moved to Las Vegas to raise their family. He was a successful business man. His passions were his wife, four children, good friends and fishing. He and Beverly loved to travel and build memories together which included many fishing trips to Baja, Calif., especially La Paz both alone, with their children, their grandchildren and with his good friends. He was active in A.G.C. as a young man, Little League Baseball when his sons played and involved in many construction projects in Las Vegas, Arizona, California, and other parts of Nevada. Stanley was preceded in death by his father and mother, John George and Christa Marie Hansen; and his loving wife Beverly. He is survived by his sister, Mary Alice Rutty; children, Karen and Jim Allen of Oregon, Eric and Debbie Hansen of Las Vegas, Julie and Bob Deavours of Arkansas, and John and Leah Hansen of California; 11 grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren. There will be a veteran honor guard and memorial service for Stanley and Beverly at 3 p.m. Friday, March 18, at Palm Mortuary-Cheyenne, 7400 W. Cheyenne Ave. Internment for them will be at Southern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Boulder City at a later date.
