The following obit was in the Boulder City News: Gene MacDonald Bassett died at home in Las Vegas on Aug 20, 2009 after a brief battle with pancreatic cancer. A longtime Boulder City resident and graduate of Boulder City High School. She is survived by Dale Brockett, his three sons, Bruce and James (Frankie) of Las Vegas and Steve (Mary) of Juneau, Alaska. Their extended family gave Gene eight grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren. She is also survived by her son Richard Charles Bassett of Las Vegas and sister and brother-in-law, Gayle MacDonald and Paul Friedman of Marina del Rey, CA and Orcas Island, WA. She was preceded in death by her first husband, Porter John Bassett, her daughter Teresa Ann Bassett and her son Roert Daniel Bassett.
