Dorothy Ellen (Voss) Helms
Dorothy Ellen (Voss) Helms, 85, of Henderson, Nev., died Tuesday Dec. 15, 2015, at Lee's Summit Medial Center in Lee's Summit. Cremation with services are pending at this time.
Born Nov. 12, 1930, in Chuquicamata, Chile, she was the daughter of Wilfred T. Voss and Marjorie Ella Menser. She married Rowley Ellsworth of Las Vegas, Nev., on Aug. 28, 1949, who survives. She then married Ralph Lewis of Las Vegas, Nev., on July 29, 1962. He preceded her in death in March 2010. She married a third time to Richard Toalson of Grandview, Mo., on Aug. 31, 1968, who preceded her in death February 1991. On Sept. 18, 1997, she married William 'Bilbo' Helms of Las Vegas, Nev. He preceded her in death in 2011.
She was a 1949 graduate of Boulder City High School in Boulder City, Nev., and a 1988 graduate of the nursing program at Marshall Vo-Tech. She was a resident of Saline County for many years, and worked at Banquet Foods and was a nurse at Fitzgibbon Hospital.
In addition to her first husband, Rowley, Dorothy is survived by her sons, Will Lewis of Warrensburg, Travis Lewis of Henderson, Nev., and daughter, Vicki Ellsworth of Las Vegas, Nev.; granddaughters, Rachel Cates of Las Vegas, Nev., Jennifer Williams of Malta Bend; grandsons, Dwayne Thomas of Eldon, David Ryals of Bend, Ore., and Trevor Ryals of Las Vegas, Nev.; great-granddaughters, Ava Williams of Malta Bend, Sadie Thomas and Mikaela Thomas, both of Eldon; great grandsons, Raja and Haris Patel, of Las Vegas, Nev., Dakota Thomas of Eldon, and Beau Ryals of Las Vegas, Nev.; and a sister, Ruth Schilberg of Grants Pass, Ore.
She was preceded in death by three husbands; sons, Robert Ellsworth and Richard Ellsworth; a grandson, Jeremy Ellsworth; a great-grandson, Aldon Pointer; and brothers, Richard Voss and Wilfred Voss.
