BEN MCNAIR Ben James McNair, passed away Tuesday, July 3, 2018. Ben was born May 19, 1932, to Clarence and Jessie McNair in the little border town of Duncan, Arizona. The McNair family moved to Boulder City during the building of Hoover Dam. He told stories of living in a tent camp and his mom laying wet rags on them in order to sleep, until housing was built. Ben was athletic and would eventually go to college on an athletic scholarship. He graduated University of Nevada Reno with a B.S. Mechanical Engineering degree. Ben returned to Boulder City in 1960 with his wife, son and daughter. Ben also began his career at Titanium Metal Corporation where he would retire after 30 years. Ben was an accomplished golfer and avid outdoors man who loved to get out in the wide open, unpopulated spaces. Ben loved to talk about the many years of golfing and hunting adventures. He is survived by his daughter, Stephanie McNair; and his son, Ben McNair Jr. Viewing will be from 4-6 p.m. Saturday, July 7, at the Boulder City Family Mortuary, 833 Nevada Way, Suite 1, Boulder City, NV 89005. Graveside ceremony and military honor will be at 8 a.m. Monday, July 9, at the Southern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery, 1900 Veterans Memorial Drive, Boulder City, Nevada 89005 with celebration of life immediately following at the Boulder City Golf Course Clubhouse, 1 Clubhouse Drive, Boulder City, NV 89005.
