Charles Edmund Mueller passed away May 7th, 2013. "Chuck" was born September 1, 1931 in Los Angeles, California, and then moved to Boulder City, Nevada in 1945. He played on a championship football team in high school and enjoyed track and field. Chuck enlisted in the Navy in 1952, during the Korean War and served as a Yeoman Petty Officer Third Class. He attended the University of Nevada Reno and graduated in 1958 with a degree in Business Administration and worked as an accountant for Sierra Pacific Power Company for 30 years. He then drove a school bus for 9 years and a shuttle for the University of Nevada. He also drove the "Take Care-A-Van" for Saint Mary's Hospital for 5 years before finally retiring.
He served as an adult leader in the Boy Scouts of America for over 30 years and was highly regarded as a Scout Master and Cub Scout Leader. Chuck earned his Woodbadge "ticket" and went on to participate as a Woodbadge leader. He received the Silver Beaver Award, the highest honor the council can bestow upon adult volunteers. He was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served in many youth leadership positions.
He was preceded in death by his parents: Edmund and Marie and his brother Bill and sister Eloise Benson. He is survived by Joan, his wife of 56 years and his three sons: Jim, Mark (Sue), and Martin (Jane), as well as 12 grandchildren: Katie Smith (Burton) Daniel, Melissa, Becky, Zackary (Sherry), Haley, Emma, Rachael, Sarah, Anne, Michael, Daisy; and one great granddaughter Zoey. His family was his greatest love, and he considered it his most important accomplishment. He was loved and adored by his family.
A viewing will be held on Monday May 13th, at 10:00 AM, at the LDS Church, located at 2505 Kings Row, in Reno. Funeral services will follow at 11:00 AM. Military honors and burial will be at 3:30 PM, at the Northern Nevada Veterans Cemetery, located at 14 Veterans Way, Fernley, Nevada.
Funeral services are being arranged by Walton's Funeral Home, 875 W. Second Street, Reno, Nevada. In lieu, please consider making a donation to the Boy Scouts of America.

Chuck was several years older than I. Cheuck played football with Joe Kine, Churck Mueller, Chuck Greenwood, Joe Howard, Dick Swift, Jack Rants and many others . That team won the CIF Championship.
The High School began discarding old football helmets as new helmets had been purchased. Jack Ballantyne and several of us younger kids were able to obtain those old helmets. Many of the helmets had the names of the players written on them. So we as youngsters would each have one of those helmets and pretend we were Mueller, Kine, Greenwood, Howard, Swift, Rants, etc. We had a great time thinking we were them.
When Chuck had a Mohawk haircut, I was impressed as I had only seen a Mohawk headcut in pictures or movies. I asked my parents if I could get such a haircut. They were not in agreement.
Chuck was a cordial friendly happy person. He was kind to us younger kids and talked to us.
The last time I saw Chuck was at Joan's 50th Class Reunion. He gave me a complimentary T shirt at that time. Thus he continued to show his generosity as he had done all his life.
Chuck will always remain in my memory.
