
BARBARA URSENBACH Barbara Jean Nelson Ursenbach passed away peacefully, May 20, 2013, in Las Vegas. She was born in Brigham City, Utah. She was the daughter of Tommy and Grayce Nelson. Barbara grew up in Boulder City. In 1952, she was selected as Miss Nevada in the first Miss Universe pageant. She represented cosmetic companies and traveled extensively throughout Nevada, Arizona, Utah, and Idaho. She was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and she served in many leadership and teaching positions. She loved studying the scriptures and taking Institute of Religion classes. She enjoyed attending the temple and served for many years as a temple ordinance worker in the Las Vegas Nevada Temple. She is survived by her devoted husband, Gordon Ursenbach; her sons, Tommy Clark, James Clark and Rob Swenson; her sister, Diane Earl; many grandchildren; and great-grandchildren. Visitation will be 10-10:45 a.m. Friday, May 24, with funeral services following at 11 a.m., both at the LDS Church, 1725 Palora Ave. Burial will be at 1 p.m. at Palm Mausoleum, 501 Adams Blvd., Boulder City.
