Jackie Dean (Jack) Adams passed away peacefully at his home with family by his side on Monday, June 6, 2016 after a hard-fought battle with progressive supranuclear palsy.Jack was born on February 15, 1933 in Dustin, OK. He was student body president and an All-State football player in high school in Boulder City, NV. He was appointed to the U.S. Naval Academy, and, after graduating, received his wings as a U.S. Aviator in Pensacola, FL. He was assigned carrier duty as an A4-D Skyhawk jet pilot. He then reported to VA-83 NSA in Oceana, VA. He completed two deployments aboard the USS Essex and USS Forrestal. Upon receiving an honorable discharge from the Navy, he attended Stanford University School of Business where he received his MBA. In 1962, he moved to Greensboro and worked as a sales engineer with the Trane Company. Years later, he formed Jack Adams Industrial Sales, selling commercial HVAC equipment.Jack loved an adventure, both in the air and out at sea. He was an avid fisherman, hunter and pilot and lived life with gusto, grit and determination. He was a generous, kind and honorable man to the family he loved so much.Jack was predeceased by his mother, Eula Mae Stoms, his father, James Oliver Adams, his brother, James Edward Adams and his sister, Joy Mae Adams. He is survived by the love of his life and his wife of 57 years, Jackie, his daughter and son-in-law, Jeanne and Tom Blaisdell, and his son and daughter-in-law, Joe and Tracy Adams. His five grandchildren adored him and will miss him dearly: Jack and Ben Blaisdell and Natalie, Maria and Laura Jeanne Adams.The family wishes to thank the entire team at Hospice & Palliative Care for their love, caring and support during these last nine months, especially Carlos Walden, RN, Debbie Garner and Rick Stanford.A private family memorial service will be held at a later date. The family will receive friends at the Adams home at Carlson Farms on Wednesday, June 8 from 4 to 6 p.m.In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Hospice & Palliative Care of Greensboro, Holy Trinity Episcopal Church or the charity of the donor's choice.
