:Paul Burt lived next door to us on Avenue D.  Paul was always a great neighbor.  He played the ukelele and sang.  I recall he taught me the song,"Alice was skinny as a toothpick".

Paul was a great athlete.  He was a pole vaulter.  He could also high jump, but his technique was not accepted as he would dive over the bar.

One day his brother, Tommie invited me to try riding Paul's Powell motorscooter.  I crashed it into a wall. Paul never got mad.

I always looked up to Paul.  He will always be in my memory as a great neighbor.
