DIANA COLLINS ADAMS passed away peacefully Aug. 13, 2011. She was born in Los Angeles to Raymond and Lillian Collins and the family moved to Boulder City in 1943. After graduating from Boulder City High School and the University of Nevada, Diana spent her career with the Clark County School District and retired after 30 years of teaching. Diana enjoyed traveling the world and seeing new places, but she also loved the simpler things in life. She loved to spend time at their mountain cabin, feeding the chipmonks and the birds, curling up by a roaring fire and reading a book. In earlier years she loved to snowmobile. But she also enjoyed sitting at home and playing with her cats, watching the hummingbirds and of course working her crossword puzzles. Diana was an avid game player, whether it was cards or board games. Diana was preceded in death by her parents; and her half-brother, Kenneth. She is survived by her husband, Jay Richey; daughter, Leslie of Salem, Ore.; and several nieces and nephews in California and Oregon. She wanted no memorial service or funeral, so instead a gathering of Diana's friends will be 3-7 p.m. Friday, Sept. 30, at the Boulder Creek Golf Course in Boulder City. In lieu of flowers, Diana requested that donations be made to any of the following organizations: The Boulder City Republican Women's Club, the Southern Nevada Retired Educators Association or the Boulder City Museum and Historical Society.
