
Jerry Clay Coombes Jr., 68, of Boulder City, passed away Feb. 10, 2005. He was a retired IBEW electrician and proudly served in the U.S. Army. Born in 1936, in San Diego, Jerry was a loyal brother and companion, proud father and poppy and a best friend to everyone he met. A 1954 graduate of Boulder City H.S., Jerry was a 55 year resident of Boulder City/Henderson and recently resided in Pioche. Also known as the "Bluesman" Jerry was an avid music lover and belonged to the Las Vegas Blues Association and the Southern Nevada Bluegrass Society. Also known as Mr. Brown, Jerry was a loyal brother in the IBEW Local 357. Jerry is survived by his brother, Pepper Coombes; his loyal longtime companion, Barbara Mason; son, Charlie Coombes; daughters and sons-in-law, Adrienne and Reno Gonzales and Andrea and Dario Primo; grandchildren, Ali and Michaela Gonzales, Jordan, Gianna, Anjoli and Josh Primo; nieces and nephews, Kathy Garrett, Bill O'Leary, Pat O'Leary, Mike O'Leary, Johnny O'Leary and Jessica Coombes; and his first wife, Colette Cole. He is preceded in death by his father, Jerry Clay Coombes Sr.; mother, Thelma Coombes; and sister, Colleen O'Leary. Visitation will be from 2-7 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 16, at Palm Mortuary, 800 S. Boulder Highway. Services will be at 11:30 a.m. Thursday, Feb. 17, at the Boulder City Christian Center. A graveside service will be at Southern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery, immediately following the service.
