In Memory

Dick Dossett - Class Of 1956

Dick Dossett

Jim,

I received the sad news that Dick Dossett passed away last night from complications from Covid.

His wife, Linda called me this morning.

Dick was the closest of friends in BC.  We had such great times.  He was the most coordinated person I have known.  Terrific  baseball player (4 year letterman), gymnast, unicyclist, golfer, and athlete.  Do you remember you ,Richard Roper, Dick and I played golf together in BC at one of the reunions.
Dick was a super fun guy, always had a motor scooter, motorcycle, best roller skates.  There are so many memories of being with him.  I need to write something in the BoulderCity.com website about him.

Would you  please put  his name on the website as being deceased.

Here is a fun BC story Sharon Rogers, Class of 1961,  sent to me and she agrreed it was OK to put on Dick's Memory page.   So here you go.

Hi Jim,

I am so sorry to hear about Dick Dossett.  He was a character and usually up to something.  He was funny and happy-go-lucky.  I don't remember ever seeing him riding his unicycle.

This is really weird -- I was just looking at his profile a few days ago.  He did something to my sister Bonnie that makes me laugh every time I think about it.  I must have thought about the incident a couple of days ago and that triggered me to look up Dick's profile to see where he was, etc.  And then I get his "In Memory" notice.  Eerie.

The incident with Bonnie happened at the BC movie theater.  Dick Dossett and some friends were sitting on the left side of the middle section about half-way down.  Bonnie and I were sitting in the left section several rows back.  Dick saw Bonnie and yelled at her to come over to him.  He wanted to tell her something.  So Bonnie (probably in Jr. High at the time) went over to him and he said really loud "Hey Bonnie, did you fart?"  The whole theater heard it.  Of course, the movie had not started yet.  But his friends got a big kick out of it.

Poor Bonnie, everything always happened to her.
