In Memory

Louise Smee (Newton) - Class Of 1957

Louise Smee (Newton)

I  have been told by a friend and neighbor of  Louise of a Memorial Service for Louise on July 23 in her home.  The time I do not know as yet.  The address of her home is : 1309 Hidden Mountain Drive, El Cajon, CA, 92020.

We plan to attend.  My feelings are tender at this time. To see a friend such as she leave under such circumstances is stunning. Louise is a wonderful friend, and a choice one at that.  She is intelligent, positive, loving, and just a person everyone who knows loves her.

Notice sent to classmates:

Sadly we pass on the news that our wonderful friend Louise Smee Newton passed away this week.   We wanted to send out a notice right away to her friends and classmates, who have emails, in case you can make plans to attend a Memorial Service on Saturday  July 23rd  at 2:00 PM.  The address is 1309 Hidden Mountain Drive, El Cajon, CA, 92020.

The  service will be held in Otto and Louise's long time family home of 35 years in El Cajon.  As fate would have it they have just sold it and were embarking on a downsizing.  Louise and Otto were signing documents at the bank to complete the sale when she tripped over a cement parking berm as she left  the bank,  causing severe head injuries.

Louise had a rich family and school  history in Boulder City.  a brother and sister graduated from BCHS, an uncle was one of the first School Board members in BC.    She  was a sheer delight to know  ..  so loyal,  so loving,  so much fun.    She went on to colleg at  UNR and SDSU  and became a Micro-Bioligist  at Sharp Hospital in San Diego  ..  she stayed there  for 50 years !, yes I said 50 years, retiring in December 2010.   None of us can remember our youth in BC without thinking about Louise nor think about BC without thinking of her, now and forever.  She loved going to the BCHS reunions and meeting up with the wealth of friends she had earned.

Otto and Jeffery are organizing what will surely be a warm, loving Memorial and invite you all.    Jim, Barbara, Roy
