George always felt like a good buddy - even though I was just a girl...! He knew me as Judy Gail Hunsaker (not my current married name..) Sending condolences and fond memories to his family..
George was there back in Boulder City Elementary. I was in Mrs. French's class and he was in Mr Wood's class. We played boy chase girl and girl chase boy on the park across from the school. He was the quarterback on our football team in highschool. I guess we won't be having any more reunions since we are all 80 years old but I will truely miss seeing him on those occasions..
This is difficult to write because I and so many of us classmates were very close to George. He was a special friend in HS and we had hoped to spend more time together afterwards. I am writing this note on the front porch of my mountain cabin in southern Utah. Happily, Geroge, Karen, and his two children visited us here many years ago. A short distance away is where the aspen tree was growing that George carved his and Karen's name. Of course, he carved George + Karen inside a heart.. Only George would do something that cool!! I contacted him and Karen every Christmans, and kept him informed on how his apen tree was doing. He was sad when it finally withered and shed it bark, but I still remember well its location and his bright smile when he finished carving that special heart! He also bragged about all the fish that he and his kids caught in the nearby creek. We got to spent some time together more recently at a HS reuniion, and unfortunately at Roger Dieleman's celebration of life. As it is a very sad time now many of us, there are so many beautiful memories of times just being with an exceptional friend in sports and just driving around in his old cars in BC.

He lived accross the alley on "G" street and we Lived on "F" so we had fun playing baseball, football & BB together in the alley.... Of course later in HS we played Football & Baseball... lots of stories to tell ... not enough time or space here... At the last reunion I saw him and didn't recognize him... he had a wonderful tan and looked great!
My son was with me at the reunion ( he was my driver) to make sure I didn't get in any trouble... he met George and we told him a few stories...about sports, etc.. my son commented and said " You mean they had football and baseball when you were growing up !! " We assured him there was..

When I moved to Boulder City in the summer of '56 George was one of the first people I met and that friendship grew over the next three years. He was a great person, a great athlete and a great friend. I will always value his friendship! We had the opportunity to see each other at a class reunion a few years ago and I treasure that opportunity! My deepest condolences to Karen and the family. God Bless!

Once upon a time, a baby was born who would grow up to be a one of a kind, bigger than life man. That baby was named George Evan Langley, after his grandfather, and was born in Santa Fe, New Mexico on March 04, 1941 to Geraldine Ruth (nee Evans) and Eldridge McElmurry.
Sadly, in August 1942 George’s dad, Eldridge passed away due to pneumonia and George was sent to live with his Grandparents in New Mexico while his mom went to Los Angeles to work for Lockheed aircraft during WWII.
In 1947, George and his mom moved together to Boulder City, Nevada where his mom fell in love and married Charles W. Langley in 1948. The following year, 1949, George asked Chuck to adopt him, and Chuck happily agreed to 8-year-old George’s request.
George remained an only child and the Langley Family lived on Avenue G Street in Boulder City until his mother Gerry passed away in 2001.
George attended Boulder City High School where he played Football, worked as a lifeguard, was a big man on campus, and graduated in 1959. He enrolled at the University of New Mexico but found he was too homesick and soon came back to Boulder City.
On August 24, 1962 he married his sweetheart from Boulder City, Karen Audrey Frejlach. Together they had two children; Stefani Joyce in 1972 and Geoffrey Scott in 1974. They spent their married lives in California with the last 43 years in Covina, California.
George started his banking career as a teller for Crocker Bank in Los Angeles in 1962. He remained a banker for his entire career, minus a brief stint as a plumber and a time when he thought he wanted to clean pools but changed his mind when he found out he was becoming a dad. It turned out to be a great decision because he had a real gift with numbers and banking.
When he retired in 2016 he was President and CEO of Foothill Independent Bank in Glendora, California—where he had been working since 1977.
Over the years, George was very involved his community; raising money for organizations and sitting on many local boards.
George was extremely honored to be named Glendora’s Man of the Year. His favorite organization to support was Casa Colina Hospital and Healthcare Center in Pomona, California.
George embraced change, as he knew it was evitable, and welcomed retirement with enthusiasm. In retirement, he could usually be found sitting in his favorite chair watching his western movies, especially his favorite, John Wayne. He also sat on the board of Pac West Bank. He spent many summers at his favorite vacation place; the Lake of the Ozarks and he was a diehard Anaheim Angels fan, having season tickets to Angels Stadium and watching as many televised games as he could.
George was known most for his humor, being a big jokester and teaser. If you knew George, you have at least one funny story about him. He loved to fish, play golf and his hatred for snakes was legendary.
He died on July 27th, 2021 in Covina, California at the age of 80.
George is survived by his beloved wife of 58 years, Karen, his daughter Stefani Langley-Palmer, his son Geoff and his wife, Renee Langley.
George was especially proud of his life’s greatest gifts, his wonderful grandchildren: Kylie, George, Elizabeth and Melissa (Stefani Langley-Palmer) along with Haley and Mia (Geoff and Renee Langley.)
George will be deeply missed by all who knew him—especially his family, who will hold a special place in their hearts for him forever.
