Mayes, William "Tom", of Anaheim, CA, passed away on 5/3/2013, peacefully at his home with his wife Linda, after a long and courageous battle with Parkinson's disease. He was 73 years old. Tom was born in Nevada, and grew up in Boulder City where he met his wife to whom he was married for 53 years. He served in the United States Navy and moved to southern California where he raised his family following his discharge from the military. Tom was a dedicated employee of Coast Iron and Steel in Santa Fe Springs for over 35 years until his retirement. During his younger years, he coached both his daughters' softball teams in West Anaheim, CA. He attended countless sporting events throughout the years in unwavering support of his grandchildren. Even in later years when it became physically challenging, Tom attended his grandchildren's games in a wheelchair. He was a dedicated husband, father, grandfather and friend, and was known for his easy going personality and great sense of humor. He is survived by his wife, Linda; daughters, Debbie and Dawn; brothers, Marvin, Pete and Denny; his most cherished grandchildren, Kylee, Kelsi, Olivia, Austin, Max and Maya; and numerous other family and friends. He will be greatly missed. A Celebration of Life will be held at Magnolia Baptist Church in Anaheim on May 15th at 2:30 p.m.
