Maria Morales (Lei)

Maria Esther Morales Lei was born on 08/02/1932 in Mollesdo, Callao, Peru.

Maria graduated from Boulder City High School on 06/01/1958 and learned English and enhanced Secretary Skills while continuing her education. She was employed at Cerro de Pasco Corporation Lima 1, Lima, Peru, South America from 4/1953 – 8/1972.

She became a board-certified cosmetologist from the years 1978 – 2009. She worked in sales at Montgomery Ward, Baker & Taylor, Mervyn’s, Model Dairy and Stanadyne INC from 1977 – 1980. She also worked as a secretary for Hunter mining Laboratory from 1980 – 1985. Lastly, Maria was an administrative assistant with the U.S. Department of the Interior Bureau of Land Management from 1985 – 1997.

Maria received an Achievement Award on 2/18/1988 from the Bureau of Land Management

Maria received permanent immigrant status in the United States on 11/06/1983 and became a United States citizen on 01/12/1977. She married Kenneth P V Lei on 09/05/1972.

Maria loved traveling and entertainment after retiring. She enjoyed spending time shopping. She loved it so much she went to the Mall of America one week after it opened! Maria traveled to many places from Seattle, Vancouver, Lison, Peking-the Great Wall of China, Shanghai, Hong Kong, and Mexico cities.

Maria and Ken loved going on cruises with each other from the Pacific, South Pacific, China, United States Port City-Seattle, San Francisco, and Honolulu.
