
Leonard passed away in Portland, OR on May 23, 2013. A service will be held at the Boulder City Veterans Cemetary at 10:00am on June 27, 2013.

Len was born in 1940 in Clinton, OK and his family moved to Boulder City, NV in 1943. He was a very active student and athlete at Boulder City High School. His All American football career as half back #77 led the team to state championships twice (’56 and ’57). He had one of the longest standing school records in track (long jump and triple jump). In 2007, he was inducted into the BCHS Golden Eagle Hall of Fame for his All American football, track and overall achievements.
Len served in the US Air Force in Vietnam and Thailand during the war. He returned to the states and continued to serve for 9 years. After benefiting from the GI Bill, and graduating college (BS in Criminology), he re-enlisted in the US Army where he served 15 more years.
His Army service included stations at Ft. Ord, CA; Ft. Leonard Wood, MO; Tripler Army Medical Center in Honolulu, HI; Schoffield Barracks, HI (including assignments to Korea and Kosrae, Micronesia), and then the Presidio of San Francisco, CA. He then moved to Southern Oregon and was employed at the V.A. Domiciliary for 19 years. 
He is survived by his wife of 49 years, Marie, his 2 sons Michael and Chris, his mother Betty Resler, his brother Ron Resler, his sister Susan Traasdahl, and his granddaughter Micaela.
A private memorial will be in Boulder City, NV. His family asks, in place of flowers, friends can make donations in the memory of Leonard Resler (Payable: Alzheimer’s Association mail to: 1650 NW Naito Parkway #190 Portland OR 97209, including a note to support programs in Southern Oregon).
