Jim Patton was born in Southgate, CA and was raised most of his life in Boulder City, NV. When he was just a few months old while living in California, he and his family often went to Lake Elsinore to be near the water, swim, and enjoy each other as a family. They moved to Boulder City, as his father became employed as a bookkeeper at the local grocery store. During his early childhood, Jim liked to wear a military uniform because he was proud of his dad being in the Royal Canadian Air Force. It's unclear of his depth in a child's military organization. Later on in high school, Jim earned a Letter in Basketball, his favorite sport. He then married his high school sweetheart, Marilyn Hall, and moved to Reno, Nevada to attend college and chose Business as his major. After one year of college, they decided to move back to their home town of Boulder City in 1957. They had their first child They spent two more years in Boulder City. By then, they had two more children. Jim was hired by Wells Cargo as a Timekeeper that took them to Beaver Utah for one and a half years. Wells Cargo transferred him to Lovelock, Nevada. Their last child was born in Lovelock. Jim and Marilyn decided to move back to Boulder City to pursue a life and raise their children. They rented and later purchased a home they lived in for seventeen years. Through friends, Jim became interested in electrical work and joined the Electricians Union in 1962. He followed that career for thirty years. Some of the interests in his life were playing the trumpet, building and flying motorized model airplanes, boating and fishing, enjoying music, playing pool, joining the organization The Knights of Pithius, raising and showing dogs professionally, going on excursions with his closest friends to Mexico and New Orleans, researching and studying various subjects on the computer, using his talents in constructing his own home and additions and building his own sand rail. He loved the mountains and bought his first property outside of Cedar City, then later fulfilled a lifelong dream and purchased a home in the mountains in Pinetop, AZ. He was able to enjoy this property and its beauty for several years. Jim was in a serious car accident in 2004, which resulted in brain and neck trauma. This led to a dramatic change in his life. He was diagnosed with Dementia in 2010 and subsequently he was unable to live alone and moved to an Assisted Living Facility, Lakeview Terrace in January 2012, where he spent the remainder of his days.
