My brother John Norman Naegle died on January 4, 1999, at age 56 from brain cancer. John graduated from the U.S. Coast Guard Academy in 1964, and spent another 20 years in the Coast Guard.  John traveled the world and got his Master's and PhD in nautical engineering from the University of Michigan before retiring from the Coast Guard and settling in Seattle, WA, with his wife and 2 sons.  John worked for Boeing for a number of years, and had a great love of the outdoors, his scout troop and his family.  He left his wife Jill, his sons and missed seeing his 5 grandchildren.

Our Dad, John and his sons John and James, and our brother Alan.

Thank you for sharing this information and photo.  John was impressive as a teenager at BCHS and I'm glad to know more about his life.  I lived in the Seattle area in the 90's (still do) and would love to have seen John.  I'm sad his life was cut short, but I have no doubt it was a good life and that he left the world a better place.

John Bromley (1960)

I remember we both tried out for JV basketball.  He made the team and I was cut.  I was never so grateful to anyone than John Naegle that day,  I was so sore from the try-out I was barely able to hobble up California Avenue to my house on Colorado Street!
