Fred G. Pendleton

Lakewood, CO - Fred G. Pendleton, 88, passed away peacefully on October 29, 2018, in Lakewood, Colorado. 

Fred was born in St. George, Utah, on April 17, 1930, to William Owen and Agnes Bleak Pendleton.

He grew up in St George, attended Dixie High School, and was in the National Guard. Fred continued his education at Dixie College, and graduated from Utah State University with a degree in Industrial Education. He married Rhean Hall on July 11, 1952, in the St. George Temple. 

Following their marriage they moved to Boulder City, Nevada, where Fred taught Industrial Arts and Chemistry at Boulder City High School. After two years of teaching, he began a long career with Titanium Metals Corp in Henderson, Nevada, as a process engineer. Fred and Rhean lived in Boulder City for more than 50 years, and raised their family there. After retirement, Fred built a cabin in Pine Valley, Utah, where they spent summers and eventually lived full time. For the past two years he has lived in Lakewood, Colorado, near his daughter. 

Fred was active in the LDS church, and held many leadership positions. He was involved in the community and served on the Recreation Board and Planning Commission. He was active in Jaycees, and served as president for the State of Nevada. In Pine Valley, he was active in the community, volunteered at the Heritage Center and was a volunteer fireman. 

Fred is survived by his children, Burton Pendleton (Rosemary), Laurette Allen (Dee), Brooke Cowan (Michael), and Grey Pendleton (Beth), 11 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers Sam and Cecil, and his wife, Rhean. 

A memorial service will be held on November 17, 2018, at 11 a.m. in the Pine Valley Chapel, Pine Valley, Utah.
