Ralph (Mac) Magee (1957)
No question about Mr. Schultz's expertise as a teacher and a coach! Maybe I didn't know that back then, but my own life's experience has made that evident now. The future makes the past appreciated and seen in a better perspective.
As students in his American History and givernment classes, Paul Richter, Bud Johnson and I, often got him off track, asking questions like, "Why did they use such and such weapons and how effective were they in reality?" He had a keen knowledge of many WWII trivia, and once we got him going...he really got with it and it was our hope the bell would ring and he wouldn't have time to or would forget to assign the next home work assignment....he never did! Oh wel; we tried!
Long after grduation and perhaps a few years before his eath, I called him. We talked for about 30 minutes or so. He updated other teachers' activities and gave me a different outlook on Hitler's defeat...Hitler would not use women in industry during the war; a mistake that was in large measure, partly responsible for his defeat. Thanks for helping me, Mr. Schuktz.
