Warren W. Goedert

September 11, 2016
Warren W. Goedert (born April 3, 1943) beloved father, brother, and husband, reached his mountain on September 11th. We mourn his generous heart, his beautiful mind, and his wisdom and quick wit. Warren spent two years at the Naval Academy before leaving to attend law school at University of San Francisco. Over his four decades of practicing law in Northern Nevada, he was most proud of his efforts helping women in their fight to break the glass ceiling and holding financial institutions liable for taking advantage of our community's elderly.
Warren will always be remembered as his sister's protector, his son's advisor, his daughter's rock, and his wife's friend. To his close family he was affectionately known as "Nipper." Enjoy your mountain Nipper. Your dogs, Kiger and Cinch, will keep the horses in line until it's time for everyone to meet up at the mountain. A guy who hated being the center of attention is going to skip having memorial services. In order to keep it low key, his friends are invited to join the family at Abby's Highway 40 located at 424 E. 4th St., Reno, NV on September 24, 2016 at 6 pm to swap stories and toast to a man we all loved and admired. Rather than flowers or donations, please pass on his kindness to others.

My sincere condolences to Warren's family and friends.
Lots of memories, starting with riding with Warren and his father to play in junior high school football games in Las Vegas and Henderson. Warren was a caring friend to everyone, and the only times I saw him angry were when it was needed and justified.
We have not been in touch for many years, but from Warren's obituary it appears that he continued to care for those around him, and to watch out for the underdog.
May God Bless and Comfort those he knew and loved,
Karl Miller, BCHS Class of '61

Warren was a good friend and all around good guy. He spent his career helping others. I was at his memorial and he was obviously held in high regard by the legal community in Reno. Godspeed my friend

Warren was simply one of the nicest persons in the student body. He lived about a block away and on the same block as Phil Bright, also in our class. Both were often stopping points walking to school.
He came from Nelson, NV (I believe) and his father had the bowling alley in Boulder City. We both were in Mr. Nelson's Advanced Mathematics Class which had to be the best class offered at school by one of absolute best teachers. Later before he went to San Francisco to law school, we were fellow students at the University of Nevada, Reno for a short period.
We had an opportunity to reconnect at our class's 50th reunion.
It is with great sadness to learn of his passing, such a great person.
