Walt Larsen (1963)
Mitch, who passed away during October, 2014 was a close friend during BCHS days. Mitch was smart, confident and fun to be around. He was also good at mischief.
I was especially happy to reconnect with Mitch for about three years before his passing. It was fun telling stories about our high school glory years! Those lunches and a few hospital visits also included Mitch's wife, Diana Marsh Hawkins, (BCHS Class of 1964), Myron Jones and John and Sue West. Mitch is greatly missed.
Myron Jones (1963)
I want to pay tribute to Mitch as Walt had done in 2016. Sorry for being so tardy. In a reflective mood today and turned to the BCHS website to get a taste of good high school memories. Mitch was a good friend and I want to share two memories of him. First, watching him cruise around town in his Jaguar. Righteous auto and he fit perfectly with that car. I may be wrong but it seems he was dating Linda French for a time and they rode aorund in that Jag. (Somebody correct me if I missed that tidbit). Second, I remember Mitch was a part of our possey that dropped garbage through the sunroof of Roger Christian's (RIP) Renault. I believe Roger was visiting Lilian Arp and Wally didn't like it one bit (Sorry for exposing your secret dreams Walt and you can pound me good when I see you in Fullerton Feb 1 for lunch). Yea, it was Mitch, Wally and I beleive Dickie Lansford that dumped that garbage (a lot of it) in Roger's little French shoebox. Roger's parents were out of town and his uncle pushed him to file charges against us. Walt and I had turned 18 and gave ourselves up to Officer Tabney who booked and put us in jail. Horrible night. We were in the cell with some drunk guy and I thought we would be murdered before dawn. Ultimately, a special court was held and we were fined some small amount and it was dismissed. Taught me a good lesson. I remember Mitch's dad was very vocal at that special court and wanted to lay some punitive punishment on us three. Thankfully, his desire to have us suffer even more was dismissed. Mitch was a great guy.. Smart, entreprenurial and full of confidence which lasted to the day of his unfortunate passing. Miss you Mitch. Too many '63 classmates have moved on!!
