 In loving memory of Katherine Manix, born May 16, 1941 and passed away Nov. 14, 2003. She will always be remembered as the most respected woman in the horse racing industry. Her accomplished and impeccable career of leadership at Las Vegas' hotels include the Stardust Hotel, MGM/Bally's Hotel, Caesars Palace Hotel, the Horseshoe Hotel and the Las Vegas Hilton Hotel. Truly ahead of her time, her contribution to and impact on the horse racing and gaming industry is immeasurable and will be remembered for years to come. She has given her entire family everything within her wonderful and beautiful spirit. Gentleness, kindness, joy, compassion, strength and class are only a few of the qualities that define her essence. She has touched the lives of so many people in such a precious way. While our mother is living in eternity with Our Heavenly Father, she will be missed by us here on earth. We will always cherish all our wonderful memories of our beautiful mother and thank God for the blessing of her in our lives. She is survived by her daughter, Hilary Green and husband, Clyde Green Jr.; her grandchildren, Sean David, 20, and Terrence Luther, age 11, both of Las Vegas. Her son, Christopher Manix Hodgkin and his wife, Jamie; and her grandson, Ian Michael, age 5, all of Boulder City. Her son, John Joseph Hodgkin and his wife, Chere; her grandchildren, Cameron Jolie, age 11 months old, Jettison Joe, age 5, Daisy Mae, age 4, Tasia Emily, age 6, Kaine Burton, age 9, Dustin Wayne, age 10, Tesla Kaye Marie, age 12, Keri Anne, age 12, Cassie Lee, age 15, Samantha Jo, age 13, all residing in Boulder City. Her brothers, Paul Manix and wife Mary of California, Tom Manix and wife Darlene of Alaska, Kevin Manix and wife Debbie of Las Vegas. Her mother Doris Wilcox; and her sister, Teresa Manix. Viewing from 8 a.m. to 11 a.m., Friday, Nov. 21, with services at 11:30 a.m., both at 1st Henderson United Methodist Church, 609 E. Horizon Dr. Burial immediately following in Boulder City. Arrangements handled by Sunrise Cremation & Burial Society.
