WAYNE LAATIKAINEN Wayne M. Laatikainen, of Las Vegas, went to abide with his Lord Sept. 1, 2014. He was born July 2, 1947, in Bishop, Calif., the son of Waino and Vera Laatikainen. Wayne spent his childhood in southern California, relocating to Boulder City, where he graduated from Boulder City High, moving to Reno, where he continued his education at the U.N.R. Campus with football while studying art and then returning to U.N.L.V. to pursue a degree in art and education. Wayne worked for 20 plus years as a master electrician, retiring to paint and tour with his wife, Helene, for the last six years of his life. Wayne is survived by his wife, Helene; and two daughters, Heather Laatikainen and Lara L. Bailey; son-in-law, Clayton; and the joys of his life, the grandbabies, Hazel, Zane and Eric Wayne. Services will be at 3 p.m. Sunday, 7, at the Encounter Community Church133 S. Water St. in Henderson.
