CATHERINE MARIE MILLER,

CATHERINE MARIE MILLER Catherine Marie Miller passed away on August 27, 2022. She was born on July 11, 1947, in Las Vegas, Nevada, to Loyal and Leota Miller. Her early years were spent in Arden, Nevada, where she loved playing in and exploring the desert with her friends. In 1959 the family moved to Boulder City. She attended the Boulder City schools where she excelled in sports. She graduated from BCHS in 1965. She attended Nevada Southern University, now UNLV, where she received her Bachelor's degree in teaching physical education in 1970. Her 30+ teaching career was in Bakersfield, CA, at East High School. Not only did she teach but also coached the girls' high school basketball and volleyball teams. In 1982 she married Dave Queen. They spent years building and maintaining a farm where they raised horses, cattle, sheep, pigs, goats, chickens, and rabbits. The farm became a great meeting place for her extended family and friends. Catherine had a natural love and connection to her many 4-legged friends. Her dogs brought her enormous joy. Catherine also loved her carsa 58 Chevy Biscayne, PT Cruiser, and the favoriteher tan 55 chevy Pickup. She enjoyed teaching and playing with her grandkids, nieces, and nephew. In 2014 she returned to her hometown of Boulder City. She enjoyed riding her horse in the desert with friends and enjoyed the many friendships she made upon her return. Catherine is survived by her husband, Dave, stepdaughter, Cherie (Frank), stepson, Chris (Jessica), stepson John (Alexandra), sister, Sandra (Bob), brother, Loyal, 5 nieces (Adrienne, Mercedes, Rosemary, Ashlee, Bree), 1 nephew (Alan), and 12 grandchildren (Ben, Nicolas, Tom, David, Rosalia, Collette, Cady, Christopher, Jonas, Julia, Lilly, and Joan.) A Celebration of Catherine's life will be held on October 1 at a time and location to be determined. For details contact Sandra at 702-265-5778. No flowers please.
