May 17 (UPI)—An American civilian was killed yesterday when his truck left the road and crashed 600 feet down a hill between the U.S. Antarctic base at McMurdo and the New Zealand Scott Base, a project official said here today.
Gregory Nickell, 26, a laboratory manager at McMurdo, was wintering in Antarctica. His parents live in Boulder City, Nev.
