Billy dropped out of school to go into the Navy. He served as a firefighter onboard the USS General J. C. Breckinridge. After his service he came back to Nevada living in Henderson. He was killed in August of 1967 in a small plane crash in Boulder City with Chuck Baker, Class of '67.
