Donna Ipson Backer

August 24, 1952 — February 19, 2024

In loving memory of Donna Ipson Backer, who peacefully departed this world on February 19, 2024, after bravely facing declining health in recent years. Born on August 24, 1952, and raised in Bountiful, Utah, she was the cherished daughter of Lawrence Roy and Donna Ipson.
Donna's life was a testament to dedication and hard work. Following her graduation from Viewmont High School, she embarked on a remarkable career with Mountain Bell, dedicating over 30 years to the company. Donna was not only a committed employee but also cherished the camaraderie of her fellow co-workers. She also spent several years working for the DMV, further showcasing her work ethic and determination to not sit idly.  Throughout many years of her employment, she was married to Richard Backer.  
In addition to her professional achievements, Donna was known for her warmth and generosity within her family. As a favorite sibling, she shared a unique connection with each of her brothers and sisters.  Her ownership of the nicest car in the family made her the envy of her younger brothers, who, in their much younger days, often borrowed her car to impress their dates. For her sisters, Donna was the ideal shopping companion, always ready for an adventure.
As time unfolded, Donna's kindness extended to her nieces and nephews, becoming the cherished aunt who brought happiness to their lives. The void left by her departure is immeasurable, a tribute to the impact she had on those fortunate enough to know her.
Donna is preceded in death by her parents, leaving behind a legacy of love and fond memories. She is survived by her admiring siblings: Sue (Del) Bowler, Peggy (Mike) Durrant, Pete (Pam) Ipson, Todd (Jerolyn) Ipson, Van (Atousa) Ipson, Dan (Sally) Ipson, and Amy (Denny) Clark; 22 nieces and nephews, and several great nieces and nephews.
Funeral arrangements, under the compassionate care of Russon Mortuary, include a graveside service at Bountiful Cemetery, 2224 South 200 West, Bountiful, Utah. Family and friends are invited to gather at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, February 24, 2024 to pay their respects and celebrate Donna's remarkable life.
