She died doing sandbagging during the 1983 floods.  One of the nicest people I've ever known.

Stacey died of meningococcal, a deadly virus that took her life in less than one day when we were just 19. There is a vaccine now and students are required to get it before they enter college here in California. This would have saved Stacey's life.

As many of you may have kids her age, when kids are most vulnerable to this killer virus, please, please protect them. I hope you never feel the pain of living your life without your best friend beside you.

Stacey is/was a dear friend.  I came across a friendship letter she wrote to me in High School just

last week, so she is in my thoughts.
