Our beautiful Michele McClellan, age 19, passed away January 8, 1997 after suffering a long battle with Cystic Fibrosis.
We were all very proud of the courage she showed, especially the last few hours, for her love of life. Michele was born December 28, 1977 to Bruce E. McClellan and Dana Frisby McClellan.Michele graduated from Bountiful High School and the Seminary program. With all of her struggles, this was a great accomplishment. She was a member of the LDS Church.
She loved animals and the small simple beauties of the earth. Her convictions were so strong that she often donated her own money that she earned to many environmental causes, such as "Save The Whales" and "The Rain Forest". She also adopted a pack of wolves in Yellowstone. It was always important to MICHELE to have the animals of the world safe. These were just a few of Michele's life caring projects.
Michele was an avid bird watcher. Every place the family traveled you could always find her with her special bird binoculars and then looking in her numerous bird books to find out what kind of bird it was. This was a hobby she enjoyed very much.
You could always find Michele on game night rooting for the Jazz, dressed in her Jazz outfits that she has collected throughout the years. She would never let anyone talk negative about the Jazz because she loved the whole team, especially Karl Malone and his sweet wife, Kay.
Michele had a beautiful gift of being so patient. She always was putting others before herself and never complained. She loved her sister Angie a lot. They spent many days together doing various activities to keep busy at home. This meant a great deal to Michele. She also loved little children, especially her two little friends, Dylan and Shelby. Her parents feel so honored to have had the opportunity to care and love her for 19 precious years. Every moment they could spend with Michele brought them joy that they will cherish forever. Her sweet memory will not be forgotten, until they can be together again.
The family wishes to express their heart-felt thanks to the nurses and the staff at Primary Childrens Medical Center and the Cystic Fibrosis Clinic for their love and caring of Michele. A very special thanks to Carol Wood, Deann Evans, and Dr. Dennis Nielson.
Survived by one sister, Angelic, parents, grandparents, Dee S. and Dorothy McClellan and Virginia Frisby Camp and Wendall Camp. Many uncles, aunts and cousins all whom loved her very much. She will be greatly missed by all her family and friends.
Graveside services will be held Monday, January 13, 1997 at 12 noon at the Bountiful City Cemetery, 2224 South 200 West in Bountiful.
Family and friends may call Sunday evening from 6-8 p.m. at the Russon Brothers Bountiful Mortuary, 295 North Main. Michele requested a special pajama celebration. Family members will be wearing pajamas in honor of Michele's request and their love for her childlike spirit. Pajamas will be optional for all others, but Michele would want you to attend in any attire of your choice.
In lieu of flowers the family requests donations to the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation, 4848 South Highland Dr, #653, Salt Lake City, Utah 84117.
