I met Jim in the third grade at a private school in Bowie.  We became best friends immediately.  Jim was always in a good mood.  He never had a negative thing to say about anybody.  As a result he was very popular- he made friends easily.  Even though his picture is in the yearbook he did not attend Bowie H.S. our senior year.  He went to Alexandria to live with his father where he passed away in November, 1978.  I was devastated when I heard the news.  It has been more than 30 years since his passing and I still miss him.  Jim never judged or hated me because of my physical appearance, which in those days was very rare.  I couldn't believe that it was difficult to find someone like that and when I did he passed away before we graduated from high school.

That's a bummer, Gary.  I always thought of you as a good person, myself.

Thanks Jim for your kind words.  You were always like my friend Jim in that you never judged me and you were a good friend of mine.  Hope all is well with you.
