Karen died in her home of an heart attack. We will all miss our fellow Dragon and sweet classmate.

Karen Sue English Wilkins, 53, of Springfield, Tenn., passed away Feb. 24, 2014, at her residence. The Bowling Green native was born July 24, 1960, to Mary Sue English and the late Joseph Warren English. She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Marie and Otto Upchurch and Hortense and Robert English. Mrs. Wilkins received her bachelor's degree from Western Kentucky University in Bowling Green. She began her career in health care at Logan Memorial Hospital before retiring as assistant administrator of Northcrest Medical Center in Springfield, Tenn. Mrs. Wilkins was a Christian by faith. Visitation will be from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Thursday at Johnson-Vaughn-Phelps Funeral Home and again from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. Friday, with funeral services starting at 11 a.m.The service will take place at the funeral home with burial at Fairview Cemetery. Mrs. Wilkins is survived by her husband, David C. Wilkins; her brother, Jeff English of Bowling Green; her stepdaughter, Ashley Gibbons (Chris) of Bowling Green; two stepgranddaughters; her three aunts, Rhonda Scantland (Larry) of Louisville, Glenda Conn (Kenneth) of Lewisville, Ind., and Barbara Vitatoe (Charlie) of Monticello; and several nieces and nephews. In lieu of flowers, donations are requested to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 262 Danny Thomas Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
