Michael Grant James, Brainerd, died Friday, Sept. 14, 2001, at St. Joseph's Medical Center in Brainerd.

He was born July 14, 1971, in Little Falls to Marvin and Terry (Behrens) James. He developed diabetes at the age of 11. He lived in Little Falls from 1971-1981 and then moved to Brainerd. He was a graduate of the Brainerd High School in 1990. He is also a graduate of the Lighthouse Blind School of Duluth in 2000. He volunteered for Salvation Army during Christmas 2000.
