Thomas Herget

I graduated from Springfield College in 1970, and from University of Oregon in 1971. I taught Physical Education and Health for 36 years in Milton, MA. I also coached Varsity Soccer (and other sports) for 21 years. My last 16 years at MHS, I was the Director of Athletics. Since retiring in 2007, I have thoroughly enjoyed babysitting our two twin grandsons a few days each week.
We have been fortunate enough to travel to Ireland and Amsterdam since retiring, although we spend a lot of great times down Martha's Vineyard at our gingerbread college, and visiting good friends in Florida. I played in the adult soccer leagues until I was 50, then bum knees and a burning love for fishing changed my focus.

I still cherish the good times I had at Braintree HS, both in athletics and academics. Fortunately I also have stayed very friendly with a lot of our classmates, and get to hang out with them on a very regular basis. Many sports memories, soccer, Tech Tourney, and tennis. Also, many nights skim boarding and surfing down Nantasket, Horseneck and the National Sea Shore. I have always wished I could relive one day in High School, although I'm not sure which one I'd pick.

I love the North Shore of Oahu, as well as the whole island of Kauai!

Jill and I also love going to Lake Placid once a year. Martha's Vineyard is our other favorite.
