James (Jim) William Buhl, 71, passed away on July 3, 2025.
Born July 28, 1953, in Butte, Montana to the late Ellis Buhl and Grace (Curnow) Buhl, Jim grew up in Bremerton and graduated from West High School in 1971, where he was fondly voted “Cutest” by his senior class. A lifelong basketball enthusiast, he played and refereed for many years, and coached for West Gate/Warren Avenue Pee Wees.
Jim previously worked in real estate and loved fishing, camping, singing, playing guitar, enjoying the sunshine, and reading the newspaper. He was a proud and loving father and grandfather, and is survived by his daughter Amanda (Adam), grandchildren Maya and Jonah, brothers Douglas and David, and other loved ones.
A celebration of life will be held Sunday, September 14, 2025, from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. at Evergreen Rotary Park. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Warren Avenue Pee Wee Association - Basketball (PO Box 148, Bremerton, WA 98337) to support Bremerton youth sports.
