Mike was a neighbor of mine on 8th street in bremerton when we were puppies, we played games outside in the street with the neighbors.

We had a lot of fun at school and especially in auto shop

We both worked in the shipyard and I remember when a hatch accidently closed on his wrist causing a serious injury, forcing him to enter the walking wonded program, during that time he would come to my office where he was always welcome and visit when times were slow for him.

Mike was a proud man and was not going to give up.

The injury may have been a contributing factor in his retirement, after retirement he detailed cars for part time work and money and found a good woman to marry.

Last year I saw Mike and his wife at Fred Meyers, Mike had a stroke and was in rough shape but he was up and moving, lots of people just roll over and let their wife take care of them.

Mike was a person that I enjoyed visiting with and calling my friend and will miss him.

It is just a shame to see all your friends and family slowly passing away.
