Leonard Lee Heyne, 59, passed away January 21, 2010, from cancer, at the Hospice Care Center in Bremerton.
Leonard was born December 19,1950 in Bremerton to Robert Lee and Florence (Stearns) Heyne. He graduated from West High School in 1971. He served as an aircraft mechanic in the US Air Force from 1972-1976, stationed at McChord AFB in Tacoma. He later completed the PSNS Apprenticeship in shop 38, retiring in 1999.
He married Diann Porch in 1973; they had a daughter, and later divorced. In his younger years Leonard loved playing pool at Westpark Lanes, and working on cars. He enjoyed having coffee at Myhres.
Leonard is preceded in death by his parents. He leaves behind daughter Kristin (Derek) Adkisson, and grandchildren Miles, Eldon, and Emma, and ex-wife, Diann. He is survived by sisters Diane (Randy) Weber of Port Orchard, Lavina Hillman of Seattle and nephews Jason and Jarett Winniford, of Gig Harbor, and Richard Hillman of Seattle. He also leaves behind special friends Joyce Carlson of Bremerton and Julie Singer of Whitefish, MT.
